ski goggles.
I thought it would be fun to highlight this project today as I sit here and watch it snow outside… shocked that its January 18th and we still haven’t gotten much snow this winter. It’s rare for Northeast Wisconsin and while some may be happy about it (me!), Greg and the girls love skiing so they are (im)patiently waiting for one of our epic snowfalls.
This ski goggle mirror was so much fun for Greg. A coworker was redecorating her teenage son’s bedroom and found something similar while scrolling Pinterest for some inspiration. She reached out to see if it was something Greg could do and he jumped at the opportunity to combine his passion for skiing and woodworking!
Greg used Cottonwood for this project which he doweled and glued together and later cut into the goggle shape with a template.
He had a friend at a local manufacturing shop cut the mirrored stainless steel which provided a more durable option than an actual mirror and looked the exact same! He added that to the goggle frame and used a French cleat on the back for hanging.
How cool does this look?
